Ellen Bass Part 1
Hey Loop, I especially like this interview, the breath of courage necessary and community action surrounding the aftermath of THE COURAGE TO HEAL's release. Such a great book that I appreciated getting Ellen's perspective on the controversy surrounding it. It's helped so many people that I'm glad she and Laura & you are making sure an updated version is out there. e

Ellen Bass
Interesting interview. I enjoy Bass' frankness and especially her comment about a poem being a communication to a real person rather than an abstraction. Well considered and articulated. I also like seeing how bright she becomes when expressing how gratifying it is to watch her students process and comradery. Pretty flute as well. e

Keith & Cynthia
Hey Loop, Can't seem to comment on the site, but wanted to say that I think you and Keith are equally right. I suspect it comes down to the particular level of the same issue that each is addressing as well as the primary or most immediate area each of you turns your attention to. I enjoyed reading both of you articulating your experiences and perspectives. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. In addition, I love the color green and the beauty you've created on this blog, as well as the emphasis of supporting educators that Lauren has envisioned. It's mighty impressive on all counts and suspect it will be a wonderful rewarding tool for all involved. love, e

Question for Calliope

Question for Calliope
Hi Cynthia, You have been an inspiration to me as a budding writer and now you challenge me to ask a question on your website relative to writing. My default response is the inner voice which says that I am not a "real writer" like you and I must first overcome that voice. I have been part of a writing group for some months, but it has recently fallen apart and disbanded as its members were seemingly unable to meet the commitment. I was disappointed at the loss. I have also searched online for online groups connected with the book "The Artist's Way" but not been successful. So my question would be something along the lines of "How does one build this type of community in one's life when the resources don't appear to be present to do so? Or, just a discussion of how one finds writing support groups that work. Thanks much, Robert -- Moderation in All Things, Including Moderation
